Lucrecia Troncoso is an artist based in Sante Fe, New Mexico. She grew up in rural Argentina and traveled to the US to complete an MFA in New Practices from San Francisco State University in 2005. Troncoso's work has been exhibited largely in California, notably in the San Francisco Bay Area and in Los Angeles. She has also shown in New York, Chicago, Miami, Santa Fe and internationally in Argentina, Turkey and Spain. Troncoso's work explores the possibility of color as physical material. She does not focus on creating form by employing variations in color but instead focuses on turning the color itself into a sculptural entity. Largely monochrome, Lucrecia's works stand alone as auratic pieces that hearken back to early works of Ellsworth Kelly, Anne Truitt and Eva Hesse.
