Brook Caballero was raised in Nevada City, California. He earned a BFA from the California College of Arts and Crafts in 2003. Working with traditional materials, oil paint on wood or canvas, Caballero uses old master glazing techniques along with contemporary devices. He is interested in the idea of painting as a magic window. He draws heavily to his environment, recontextualizing his personal surroundings. He currently resides in California.
