Biography
Beck Lowry (b. New Haven, Connecticut, 1980) is a mixed-media artist whose intricate, wall-hung abstractions explore themes of protection, labor, and lineage. Lowry has exhibited in New York at Elijah Wheat Showroom, Headstone Gallery, Future Fairs, Art Miami, Select Fair, and Volta, and in Los Angeles at Klowden Mann. Their work has been featured in Maake Magazine and New American Paintings and reviewed in Artforum. Lowry is currently a Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program Resident and has completed residencies at Chautauqua, Millay Arts, and Interlude. Their work has been acquired by numerous private collections and is part of the collections at Southern Connecticut State University and Gateway Community College (New Haven, CT). Lowry holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Certificate in African Studies from Smith College and currently lives and works in Connecticut.
